Decasan®

Decasan® – a combination of antibacterial, antiviral, desensitizing, and anti-inflammatory effects.

Mechanism of Antibacterial Action of  Decasan® :

  • Increases the permeability of microbial cell membranes, leading to their destruction;
  • Inactivates exotoxins;
  • Inhibits protein synthesis in microorganisms..

Decasan® in Single-Dose Containers for the Treatment of Vaginal Infections and Candidiasis:

  • Effective against viruses, bacteria, and fungi
  • Highly active against antibiotic-resistant microorganisms
  • Not absorbed through mucous membranes
  • Approved for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding

Method of Application:

Dekasan for the treatment of vaginal infections and candidiasis:
Use as an external irrigation solution: 50–100 ml of the solution warmed to 38°C, three times daily.

Dekasan® – a universal antiseptic for external and intracavitary use.

Thanks to its wide range of action, it is successfully used to treat:

  • Purulent bacterial and fungal skin infections
  • Microbial eczema
  • Purulent-inflammatory soft tissue lesions
  • Dental diseases
  • Inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract
  • Wound surface treatment
  • Prevention of adhesive disease
  • Effective prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers and trophic ulcers

For the treatment of respiratory tract diseases, Dekasan inhalation therapy is recommended using nebulized form (single-dose sterile containers for inhalation) with the Ulaizer™ Air+ device.
For more information, see the section “Dekasan® nebules.”

Mechanism of Antiviral Action of Dekasan®:

  • As a surfactant, it interferes with the earliest stages of virus-cell interaction, inhibiting viral replication (according to research, treating virus-containing material with decamethoxine reduces influenza virus replication by 100 times).
  • Exerts virucidal action on extracellular forms of the influenza virus (mechanism involves damage or suppression of viral proteases).
  • Inactivates influenza virus: the infectious activity of the virus is reduced 1500 times after contact with decamethoxine.
  • Human influenza A virus (H1N1 subtype) has been shown to be sensitive to decamethoxine.
  • Also recommended: prophylactic oral rinsing: 100 ml of solution, 4 times a day
  • Intranasal administration using cotton/gauze swabs or turundas soaked in Dekasan – to help prevent pathogens from reaching the lower respiratory tract.
